Vision & Mission
|
The 62 years of Excellence in Higher Education of Mar Ivanios College, initiated
in 1949 by its Founder-visionary, the Late His Grace Mar Ivanios, Archbishop of
Trivandrum, have constituted a strong impetus to the State’s march to the New
Millennium. In the context of globalization, in order to meet the challenges,
the Higher Education Scenario has to be streamlined on a par with global
standards. Mar Ivanios College having been awarded the status of a “College with
Potential for Excellence” by the UGC has recognized its role in the present
context as an agent of progress, social change, and development of the nation. |
|
Vision |
The founder of the College, the late Archbishop Mar Ivanios of
Thiruvananthapuram, had envisaged the College as a Residential Agricultural
University in the model of Shanthiniketan since the majority of the population
in the State then depended on Agriculture. Today, in the changed situation, all
the facilities required for a University have been made available on the Bethany
Hills with facility for education from kindergarten to Post-Graduate studies,
making it a vast Education Complex. |
Mar Ivanios College is one of the Malankara Syrian Catholic Colleges established
and administered by the Archdiocese of Trivandrum in accordance with the rights
of the minority community guaranteed in the Constitution of India. |
|
|
This College has been established for providing educational opportunities to the
young men and women of our country especially the members of the Syrian Catholic
Christian Community. It extends its services to the members of the other
communities also to the extent possible irrespective of Caste or Creed. |
